For this work it started off with looking at geological maps. I found a similarity to an abstract drawing of mine of two horses.

Geological maps can be used for predicting a coming natural disaster, such as a volcano bursting, earthquakes, or tsunamis.

In many cultures throughout history, the horse is said to be present by the end of time. I am fascinated with the multi-sided symbolisms of the horse. It is one companion, a free runner, a guide and a death symbol.

The work had to be a large, 6x2 meter.
Historically large paintings have been for portraying people in power. The work was shown during BIG ART in Amsterdam. In this art fair many works inevitably become sturdy and solid because of their largeness, this acrylic on viscose was a reminder of the unstable and shaky nature.
